Bikepacking Gear Library
Making cycling and bikepacking more accessible and kinder to the planet by sharing gear, free of charge. Based in Naarm/Melbourne.

About us
The Bikepacking Gear Library is a community organisation that lends out gear free of charge. Our goal is to make camping and bikepacking more accessible and even kinder to the planet.
We believe the outdoors should be for everyone, and that price tags and pressure to have the "right" gear shouldn't stop you from getting outside.
We also understand that getting started can be overwhelming. Before sending you off with your loans, we'll talk through what gear might be right for you, whether you're a first time bikepacker or a seasoned multi-day adventurer.
We're a volunteer-run organisation that's still in beta mode. Please work through the kinks with us.
How it works
We are currently taking donations to restart the Bikepacking Gear Library inventory, which was destroyed in a fire earlier this year.
We will reopen for loans in mid-November in a new location in Brunswick East.
You will be able to browse our gear online or look through it in person with the help of our volunteers.

Who we are
The Bikepacking Gear Library is powered by volunteers Kia Matley and Yana Lim.
We love bikepacking, being outside, and helping more people experience the joy of both. We’re especially passionate about supporting women, gender-diverse folks, and people of colour to feel more welcome, confident, and comfortable in the outdoors.
We're currently a team of two, but we are forever grateful for the time and effort of the many people who've helped to get us to this point.
